There are lots of ways that individuals can work with and through traumatic experiences, and every practitioner will have his or her own methods for helping individuals find healing. One woman shares her story and the method that has helped her work through some of her past traumas. ACCA counselor Tracy Morris appreciates the simplicity of the story and how it demonstrates that trauma from our past doesn’t have to rise to a certain level to be valid. She says, “I often have clients who think they don’t have a right to claim feeling triggered because the precipitating events aren’t ‘horrible’.” All people have their own stories and experiences and the right to own, respond, and grow from them each in their own way.
